Cal­i­for­nia. Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

On this date in the Golden State, Githaiga Daniel Ram­sey was admit­ted to the State Bar of Cal­i­for­nia and can now append the title Esquire after his name.

Con­grat­u­la­tions Githaiga on pass­ing the Cal­i­for­nia bar exam­i­na­tion! Those many years toil­ing at Cal­i­for­nia State Uni­ver­sity Hay­ward and UC Hast­ings Col­lege of Law finally paid off. You’re now a mem­ber of America’s aris­toc­racy! An offi­cer of the court! A respectable mem­ber of soci­ety! And as long as your bar “dues” are paid up, safely ensconced high above the law.

Given the vari­ety of con­coc­tions offered in Cal­i­for­nia drink­ing estab­lish­ments, their bar exam­i­na­tion is noto­ri­ous for being the most dif­fi­cult in the nation. In fact, it took for­mer Cal­i­for­nia gov­er­nors Jerry Brown and Pete Wil­son two and four tries, respec­tively, to pass.

Par­tic­u­larly tricky for most aspir­ing bar­tenders are the sec­tions deal­ing with “pro­fes­sional respon­si­bil­i­ties.” Cer­tainly, Githaiga is relieved that’s over, can for­get that non­sense and con­cen­trate on extract­ing money from “clients.”
