Florida. Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Wilfrid M. Whitney, Esquire, [#101162], of 4620 E. 1st Ave. in Hialeah, Florida has been nominated by the Florida Bar for induction into the Evil Esquire Bar Association.
Admitted to practice in 1983, Whitney was disbarred immediately following an April 23, 2009 court order.
According to the Florida Bar:
Whitney misappropriated client trust funds in the amount of approximately $120,000. He also failed to provide legal services for which he had received a fee. (Case No. SC09-649)
What’s Wilfrid up to? We’d love to know and are certain he’d be interested to learn he’s been nominated and if inducted could obtain a license to practice in EEBA approved courts where misappropriating client funds and failing to provide legal services is perfectly acceptable behavior.
Help Wilfrid become an EEBA member by assisting our esteemed Bored to assess his fitness by rating his “evility” and providing commentary regarding the foregoing and any evil activities he’s been involved in that are not known to the public.

My sister and I retained Mr.Whitney in March of 2008 to handle the probate of our mother’s estate. After sixteen months of playing phone tag and vague promises,I finally discovered he had been disbarred. We have yet to hear from him,and our present attorney was unable to get the original will and deed from him.Of course,he never even started the probate process, and our original retainer fee of $1625 is gone with the wind.
You should file complaints with both the Florida Bar and the Attorney General. One of those organizations may be able to assist you to recover your documents. Also, most state Bar’s have a client / victim protection fund. Given he’s been disbarred you may be eligible.
I am weav6900 sister. I fully agree with her we thought him being a home town local that he was a good ole boy but, he turned into a bad boy.my sons were born 5th genaration in this town. so our roots run deep. people like him make us very leerly about trusting anyone else. we have already filed with the florida bar. what could att. gen. help us with. I hope you will admit him into your bar. he needs to stay away from the public. 1625 dollars gone it hurt us money wise in this troubled times didn’t need this . thanks for a site like this to let us vent off some steam.
Surprised the Florida Bar cannot assist… well sort of surprised. The Florida AG certainly could have received other complaints. I encourage you to contact them.
