Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
On this date in the Garden State, the New Jersey Attorney Discipline Review Board (the DRB) admonished John P. Morris, Esquire [#101371] for engaging in a conflict of interest and failing to withdraw from representing a criminal client after he became aware that the client and Morris’ wife were engaged in a romantic relationship.
John’s wife sounds like T-R-O-U-B-L-E. Did he ditch her? Or is she doing conjugal visits with his “client?”
Willis F. Flower, Esquire appeared before the DRB for District I.
Vincent J. Pancari, Esquire represented Monsieur Morris.
John is a repeat offender of the New Jersey Rules of Professional Conduct. He was previously admonished in 1996 and reprimanded in 1998. Heretofore his aggregate unethical conduct has not risen to a level deemed meritous of disbarrment by New Jersey bar overseers.
Was John’s criminal client injured as a consequence of his misconduct in this or the underlying matter? Was restitution ordered? Paid?
Have there been other instances of misconduct by John that haven’t been addressed by the DRB?
