Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

On this date in the Garden State, the New Jersey Attorney Discipline Review Board (the DRB) sus­pended Dorca I. Delgado-Shafer, Esquirette [#102027] for two years effec­tive January 2, 2009 for engag­ing in dis­hon­esty, fraud, deceit and mis­rep­re­sen­ta­tion by advis­ing a finan­cial insti­tu­tion that she was hold­ing $41,000 for her clients in a real estate trans­ac­tion when she was not and for attach­ing an altered bank state­ment in sup­port of the let­ter; for com­min­gling per­sonal funds in her trust account and com­mit­ting record­keep­ing vio­la­tions; and for engag­ing in a con­flict of inter­est by rep­re­sent­ing her brother in a fore­clo­sure involv­ing a res­i­dence used by Dorca, which fore­clo­sure was caused by the her fail­ure to timely remit monthly mort­gage pay­ments on the prop­erty which was owned by her brother.

Melissa A. Czartoryski, Esquirette appeared before the Supreme Court for the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics (the OAE).
