Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
On this date in the Garden State, the New Jersey Attorney Discipline Review Board (the DRB) suspended Kenneth S. Ward, Esquire [#102091] for one year on April 8, 2008 as a result of reciprocal discipline in the State of Maryland, including lack of diligence and gross neglect in three cases, failing to communicate with clients, attempting to collect an unreasonable fee from two clients, allowing a default judgment to be entered against a client, misrepresenting to a client the status of the civil case, improperly directing his secretary to notarize a document and misrepresenting to a court that there were no pending disciplinary matters against him.
Richard J. Engelhardt, Esquire appeared before the DRB for the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics (the OAE).
Kenneth failed to appear. Perhaps he was too busy grossly neglecting his clients and attempting to collect unreasonable fees?
Were any of Kenneth’s clients injured as a consequence of his misconduct in this or the underlying matter? Was restitution ordered? Paid?
Have there been other instances of misconduct by Mister Ward that haven’t been addressed by the DRB?
