Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
The Evil Esquire Bar Association is seeking public comment regarding the misadventures of Hilo, Hawaii attorney Curtis Narimatsu, Esquire [#102106], prior to accepting nominations for his induction into the EEBA.
The Hawaii Supreme Court suspended Narimatsu on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 citing the possibility he “may have violated the Hawaii Rules of Professional Conduct and poses a substantial threat of serious harm to the public.”
According to Hawaii’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel, they have received twenty-six (26) complaints regarding Curtis over the past two years alleging he failed to represent clients after accepting money from them, did not deposit funds into his client trust account and thereafter refused to communicate with them. Interesting. Hawaii lawyers do that too.
According to the Hawaii Supreme Court’s “Not Authorized To Practice Law” list which, by the way, is almost as long as their “Authorized to Practice Law” list, Curtis was admitted to practice in Hawaii on September 23, 1977– so it took him exactly thirty-two years and twenty-six (26) complaints to piss off the Bar!
According to the Honolulu Advisor:
a man said he called Narimatsu numerous times and left messages asking why Narimatsu did not return calls. Then, on July 23, 2009, the man left a message for Narimatsu, pretending to be a prospective client who recently moved to Hilo. Narimatsu returned the call the next day.
Anyone needing to reach Curtis to obtain a refund can contact him at the address below. Just remember to state in your message you’re a prospective client and not a current one.
