Just in time for the CalBARFOON’s annual gath­er­ing in at the Grand Hyatt in San Diego, the Evil Esquire Bar Association’s actu­ar­ial depart­ment has released their pre­lim­i­nary find­ings regard­ing the State Bar of California’s dis­ci­pline sys­tem per­for­mance for the years 2004 through 2008. Before we start, the text on the cover of the State Bar of California 2008 Annual Report is worth not­ing: “Public Protection | Administration of Justice | Member Services.”

AZ State Bar | Seeking Public Input re Esq Discipline

The State Bar of Arizona “Attorney Discipline Task Force” is seek­ing pub­lic com­ment regard­ing ways to improve the effi­ciency of their lawyer dis­ci­pline sys­tem. The task force is hold­ing its sec­ond meet­ing on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 0:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Hearing Room 109 of the State Courts Building located at 1501 West Washington in Phoenix. The pub­lic is wel­come to attend! We strongly rec­om­mend at all of the folks who, accord­ing to the invi­ta­tion have filed 4,000 com­plaints (“charges”) against Arizona lawyer in 2009 show up and give em’ an ear full.

Bar Buffoonery Digest: Pennsylvania

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has exclu­sive juris­dic­tion over the admis­sion and dis­ci­pline of all attor­neys prac­tic­ing in the state. The Pennsylvania Board of Bar Examiners admin­is­ters the admis­sion process. The fil­ing fee is $50. For Esquires inter­ested in acquir­ing an “engrossed, wall-sized cer­tifi­cate” the cost is $50.

Today we review the web­site of the bar asso­ci­a­tion of our impris­oned com­rad, Mississippi Dickie Skruggs. Nice col­ors! Contrasty though. Too many and set against light col­ored links make it extremely dif­fi­cult to nav­i­gate– or is that the intent? In a word– gauche.

Oh the irony. A pic­to­r­ial oxy­moron– “pic­ta­moron.” Honest Abe Lincoln in the ban­ner of the Association for Illinois Lawyers. Undoubtedly they have em’ there to deter EvilEsqDoers. We’re sure that’s as effec­tive as their dis­ci­pline system.

Remarkable Bar Association Websites: Maryland

Is Charles Manson out of prison and design­ing web­sites? Who knows maybe he’s doing it from prison. The Maryland Bar Association’s web­site is awful! Obviously Maryland attor­neys don’t pay enough bar dues. Either that or they’re behind on pay­ments to their liquor vendor?
