Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy is a legal procedure to declare the inability or impairment of ability of an individual or organization to pay its creditors. Under an involuntary bankruptcy procedure, creditors file a petition against a debtor to assist them to try to recoup amounts owed or to initiate a restructuring. Under a voluntary bankruptcy procedure, the debtor, an individual or organization initiates the proceedings.

Judge to Heller: Dig In Your Own Pockets

The Judge han­dling Heller Ehrman’s bank­ruptcy has appar­ently denied Heller’s shareholder’s motion to pay the firm’s mal­prac­tice insur­ance pre­mium. We’re stunned there’s some­one in the judi­cial sys­tem they haven’t cor­rupted. And of course amused that instead of dig­ging into the creditor’s pock­ets for cash to pay the pre­mium Heller Shareholders will just have to dig into their own.
