California. Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
On October 19, 1995 Doris M. Rich filed a complaint with the State Bar of California regarding allegations that her attorney, Robert Keith Bolt, Esquire engaged in multiple instances of misconduct during the course of his representation. According to Rich, Bolt switched sides in representing Ms. Rich to facilitate her son’s efforts to gain control over her assets. See Complaint to the State Bar [letter]
The State Bar of California took no action that we can detect. According to Mr. Bolt’s California Bar Profile he “has no public record of discipline.”
This isn’t unusual. Many, many, many complaints are filed against California attorneys that are never even investigated even though, on their face, they alledge, breaches of the California Rules of Professional Conduct, the State Bar Act and even Federal and State statutes. The California Bar believes their resources are better spent on programs such as the California Bar’s Lawyer Assistance Program to aid attorneys with substance abuse or mental health problems INSTEAD OF USING THOSE RESOURCES TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC.
Q: Who’s worse, the clowns running the CalBar or the clowns they regulate– alledgedly?
A: They are one in the same. A new regulatory regieme needs to be imposed.
