Just in time for the CalBARFOON’s annual gathering in at the Grand Hyatt in San Diego, the Evil Esquire Bar Association’s actuarial department has released their preliminary findings regarding the State Bar of California’s discipline system performance for the years 2004 through 2008. Before we start, the text on the cover of the State Bar of California 2008 Annual Report is worth noting: “Public Protection | Administration of Justice | Member Services.”

The State Bar of Arizona “Attorney Discipline Task Force” is seeking public comment regarding ways to improve the efficiency of their lawyer discipline system. The task force is holding its second meeting on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 0:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Hearing Room 109 of the State Courts Building located at 1501 West Washington in Phoenix. The public is welcome to attend! We strongly recommend at all of the folks who, according to the invitation have filed 4,000 complaints (“charges”) against Arizona lawyer in 2009 show up and give em’ an ear full.

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has exclusive jurisdiction over the admission and discipline of all attorneys practicing in the state. The Pennsylvania Board of Bar Examiners administers the admission process. The filing fee is $50. For Esquires interested in acquiring an “engrossed, wall-sized certificate” the cost is $50.

Today we review the website of the bar association of our imprisoned comrad, Mississippi Dickie Skruggs. Nice colors! Contrasty though. Too many and set against light colored links make it extremely difficult to navigate– or is that the intent? In a word– gauche.

Is Charles Manson out of prison and designing websites? Who knows maybe he’s doing it from prison. The Maryland Bar Association’s website is awful! Obviously Maryland attorneys don’t pay enough bar dues. Either that or they’re behind on payments to their liquor vendor?
